Fund and Portfolio Management

Raiffeisen Capital Management’s core business is the management of investment funds. Our fund managers are proven investment and securities specialists who improve their knowledge and skills by participating in further education and training on an ongoing basis. Along with their relevant educational qualifications and many years of experience in the financial industry in some cases, they are graduates of the PRI Academy and are thus optimally prepared to manage sustainable funds.

Portfolio managers are responsible for the management of portfolios for Raiffeisen Capital Management’s clients and make decisions on the purchase and sale of securities within these portfolios. The basis for these decisions is the investment matrix and the contractual instructions specified by the investors. Our portfolio managers have relevant education and training and, in some cases, many years of experience in the financial industry. They are also graduates of the PRI Academy.

Corporate Responsibility | Sustainability Office and Product Management

The Corporate Responsibility unit is part of the Fund Management team and deals with issues that are directly related to sustainable investments such as product development, the investment process, shareholder engagement, the sustainability philosophy, certifications, the management of future-oriented topics, and much more. We want to create value for our clients and live up to our responsibilities with regard to the environment, people, and society by optimising our sustainably oriented processes on an ongoing basis and striving to achieve further improvements.

Our Product Management team is part of the Corporate Responsibility unit and manages all product-related issues within the company, serving as a liaison between the Fund Management, Sales, and Operations units. Our product managers are responsible for the quality of the products as well as for the product processes and the composition of the product portfolios. They orient themselves based on the interests of their clients within and outside of the company and serve as the link between production and the market.

Retail Business Austria

In Austria, our retail funds are distributed via the regional Raiffeisen banks. We serve these partner banks by actively providing information about our products through various communication channels and formats, developing marketing activities and sales campaigns, and conducting training seminars and events for the employees of the Raiffeisen banks. The topic of sustainability plays a key role in these activities.

Institutional Business

Raiffeisen Capital Management’s Institutional Client Service unit focuses on client groups including banks, insurance companies, pension funds, social security agencies, utilities, foundations, and religious institutions. Emphasis is placed on further strengthening the relationships with existing investors through excellent service and demonstrating the company’s high product quality to new clients. Raiffeisen Capital Management’s comprehensive expertise on the topic of sustainability is a perfect fit for the growing desire of institutional investors to incorporate sustainability criteria into their investment decisions.

International Clients

Raiffeisen Capital Management has also been an important player at the international level for many years. Our comprehensive expertise and high level of credibility when it comes to sustainable investments are a big part of why the demand for our products is also getting stronger and stronger among various target groups in international markets (from CEE to Western, Southern, and Northern Europe). The share of international fund sales in our total sales volume is constantly growing. Our client relationship managers serve international clients directly or provide support to the network banks in the Raiffeisen Banking Group.

Risk Management

Risk Management is not only responsible for quantitative controlling functions, but also for the strategic development of methods and systems for measuring and mitigating market risks. This unit works in close cooperation with the Fund Management team.

Compliance

Compliance is responsible for ensuring that laws, guidelines, and voluntary codes are obeyed and represents an integral component of Raiffeisen Capital Management’s corporate governance. As the level of regulatory complexity increases, more and more areas are emerging in which compliance plays an important role.

Central Services | Organisation and Processes

Efficiency is the key in this division, which ensures streamlined processes at the head office and throughout the network. The employees are always on the lookout for products, processes, and services that can be consolidated, thus allowing them to create group-wide synergies.

Requests for Proposal/Mandates

Many institutional investors select their asset managers on the basis of comprehensive surveys. Our RfP specialists are always up-to-date on the latest happenings, gathering the necessary information on products and investment processes and professionally preparing it for potential clients.

Fund Service | Fund Administration, Mid Office and Reporting

Fund Administration is responsible for the ongoing operations and administration of investment funds. This division deals with the management of large volumes of data, transaction processing, securities handling, and the calculation of key performance indicators. In addition, reports to regulatory and tax authorities require a strong sense of responsibility on the part of the employees.

Mid Office is an important interface between fund management and securities handling. The employees of this unit are responsible for the implementation of new products and strategies, compliance with the legal regulations, and the minimisation of operational risks.

Our Reporting team is responsible for the proper, timely preparation of internal reports, legally stipulated reports, and individual client reports for the Institutional Clients unit and for asset management purposes.
