In the past, fund solutions for private pension savings played a limited to negligible role for many people, even though the real objective of retirement savings is to ensure long-term added value after fees and commissions.
The Raiffeisen-FondsPension solutions offered by Raiffeisen Capital Management can function as a suitable instrument for pension savings and represent a good alternative to traditional forms of savings, especially in the current low interest rate environment. At the same time, it is important to keep in mind the higher risks associated with investments in securities; for instance, loss of capital cannot be ruled out.
The Raiffeisen-FondsPension funds are a group of products which allow you to easily and transparently participate in shaping your retirement savings. There are no time limits, you can choose the amount you want to pay in (at regular intervals if you wish) and the capital remains in the ownership of the investor as special assets (which does not preclude fluctuations in value).
In line with the different needs and periods of life when planning for the future begins, there are three different products each of which has a different risk profile:
The younger the investor, the more risk is generally undertaken in the portfolio as the investment period is likely to be longer and it is thus easier to compensate for volatility on the capital markets (including periods with negative performance). As the pay-out period approaches, it is recommended to reduce the share of equities in the portfolio and to shift away from "Growth" and "Earnings" towards "Conservative". When the desired pay-out age is reached, the pay-out phase begins. Investors can then access the amount saved, either in the form of regular payments, in larger partial sums (with the rest remaining invested) or as a single lump-sum. In the final case, it is important to choose a favourable period on the capital market, since these markets fluctuate and it is thus not possible to rule out losses.
These products are so-called "feeder funds". This means that the funds Raiffeisen-FondsPension-Sicherheit, Raiffeisen-FondsPension-Ertrag and Raiffeisen-FondsPension-Wachstum invest at least 85 % of the assets in the corresponding master funds Raiffeisenfonds-Sicherheit, Raiffeisenfonds-Ertrag and Raiffeisenfonds-Wachstum. The master funds are so-called "funds of funds", which feature strong diversification. This in turn generally translates into lower vulnerability to risks, but does not offer guaranteed security.
As a part of the investment strategy of Raiffeisenfonds-Sicherheit, Raiffeisenfonds-Ertrag and Raiffeisenfonds-Wachstum it is possible to invest to a significant degree in derivatives.
According to its investment strategy, the Raiffeisenfonds-Sicherheit, Raiffeisenfonds-Ertrag and Raiffeisenfonds-Wachstum mainly invest in other investment funds. The Fund Regulations of the Raiffeisenfonds-Sicherheit, Raiffeisenfonds-Ertrag and Raiffeisenfonds-Wachstum have been approved by the FMA. The Raiffeisenfonds-Sicherheit, Raiffeisenfonds-Ertrag and Raiffeisenfonds-Wachstum may invest more than 35 % of the fund's volume in securities/money market instruments of the following issuers: Germany, France, Italy, United Kingdom, Switzerland, United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Netherlands, Sweden, Spain.
Due to the composition of the Raiffeisen-FondsPension-Wachstum and the management techniques which are employed, the fund exhibits elevated volatility, meaning that unit prices can move significantly higher or lower in short periods of time, whereby it is not possible to rule out loss of capital.
